Edgehill has earned the prestigious “high performing” designation from U.S. News & World Report for excellence in both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. This marks the seventh time since 2016 that our Sub-Acute Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing neighborhood has been recognized on U.S. News & World Report’s list. The “high performing” rating is the highest possible designation, awarded to just 19% of facilities in Connecticut and nationwide.

Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Services

Our community offers comprehensive rehabilitation and skilled nursing services to both residents and the greater community. With a spa-like atmosphere, services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiovascular services, orthopedic services and wound care, all provided by dedicated care teams.

Commitment to Quality Care

“We are honored to once again be recognized by U.S. News & World Report,” said Christopher Cilano, Edgehill Campus Executive Director. “Every day our associates strive to provide the best possible care to our residents and their families. It is because of their dedication and commitment that we are able to proudly accept this recognition.”

U.S. News & World Report Rating Methodology

U.S. News & World Report’s ratings evaluate resident care, safety and outcomes. Key factors in the ratings include the consistency of registered nurse staffing, the use of antipsychotic drugs and success in preventing emergency room and hospital visits. The short-term rehabilitation ratings assess fall prevention, infection control and the ability of residents to return home. Long-term care ratings further examine center ownership and weekend staffing levels. The ratings are based on data submitted by the community to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Edgehill maintains a five-star rating, the highest possible, from CMS.

High Success Rates for Short-Term Rehabilitation

Patients at our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation neighborhood are significantly more likely to return home after discharge compared to other regional centers. According to U.S. News & World Report, 72% of short-term rehabilitation residents at Edgehill are able to return home after discharge, far surpassing statewide and national averages. Additionally, 94% of long-term care residents are able to maintain their independence with daily activities like eating and moving during their stay, reflecting the exceptional care provided here.
