Edgehill Residents Help Get Kids Ready for First Day of School
Edgehill Residents Support Stamford’s Young Learners with Back-to-School Supplies and Activities
Residents at Edgehill are making sure some of Stamford’s youngest students are ready to learn as the school year gets underway. Over the summer, residents collected supplies for Children Learning Centers of Fairfield County’s (CLC) annual backpack drive. Several residents were on hand at CLC’s William Pitt location to distribute those backpacks to very excited kindergarteners. Others visited CLC Palmers Hill to read to preschool children and give them gift boxes with crayons, colored pencils and glue sticks—essentials for early learning.
A Multi-Generational Partnership Shaping Futures Through Community Engagement
“The partnership between CLC and Edgehill is truly multi-generational and it exemplifies the power of community,” said Joel Weiss, CLC’s Chief Development Officer. “By providing consistent support and building lasting relationships with CLC’s children, Edgehill residents are helping to shape their futures in profound ways.”
The residents of Edgehill have a long-standing partnership with CLC and were excited to resume the volunteer reading program in April.
Edgehill also regularly welcomes students for special visits like holiday concerts and craft projects.
Edgehill Resident Cherishes Moments with CLC Children
“There’s nothing quite like seeing the spark in a child when they learn something new,” said Edgehill resident and Social Action Committee Chair Karen Joleson. “We treasure the time we get to spend with the children at CLC and hope these supplies will help them on these early steps in their lifelong leaning journey.”
