Edgehill Enhances Resident Services with Key Personnel Moves

Edgehill is further enhancing its resident services with recent personnel moves. Jamal Fowler, a familiar and friendly face at the community, has been promoted to transportation supervisor, while Sofia Santiago and Dequan Clarke have joined Edgehill as knowledgeable, concierge-minded IT associates.

Jamal Fowler Promoted to Transportation Supervisor

“Jamal has been a wonderful fit for our community since joining us more than four years ago, and we are so pleased he is choosing to grow his career with Edgehill,” said Edgehill Campus Executive Director Chris Cilano.

Since coming to Edgehill in November 2019, Jamal has worked as a concierge, an assistant in the Activities Department and a driver. In his new role, he coordinates off-campus transportation for residents, from arranging rides to doctors’ appointments to setting up shuttles to the beach and cultural destinations.

A Family-Like Connection with Residents

Edgehill is a natural fit for Jamal, who has always been close with his grandparents. “I talk to my grandfather all the time and share his jokes and wisdom with residents, and they share their stories with me. It’s like family,” he says.

Sofia Santiago and Dequan Clarke Join as IT Associates

Sofia and Dequan joined Edgehill in 2024 to support residents’ technology needs. Dequan, who is pursuing an education in cybersecurity, works in security in addition to his IT role. Sofia, who graduated in December 2023 from Southern Connecticut State University, splits her time between IT and the Activities Department. In their IT positions, the two help residents with everything from setting up new equipment to navigating their smartphones. They also give presentations on a range of topics, from sharing iPhone photos to avoiding scams and phishing attempts.

Expert and Compassionate IT Support

“Technology keeps our residents connected with their loved ones and helps them stay independent longer,” said Cilano. “Dequan and Sofia bring both expertise and compassion to their jobs, ensuring our residents get the most out of technology and use it safely.”
