- 1 1⁄4 cups butter or 1 1⁄4 cups margarine, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 ounce package)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
